It also motivates them to confront the situation through collective action thereby giving the child and themselves an opportunity to realize their full potential. The meaning of Aayug foundation (AAYU + YUG) is changing young generation by education and awareness.
Aayug not only focuses on the youth and their education but also on slum kids who are deprived of education and have the desire to study. They want the underprivileged kids and youth to equip themselves with basic education and awareness about the society.“We want to make an impact on the society by educating and creating awareness among the underprivileged,” said President of Aayug, Manish Verma.
Aayug, started five years ago to work on the social issues and to make a difference to the society. However, not renown in the society, Aayug has its focus and goals set. “I got to know about this NGO and have been working for it for the past two years now. It feels great to contribute something to the society by teaching the underprivileged,” said Monica, one of the volunteers. It not only provides basic education to the youth and the children but also provides books and clothes to the ones who cannot afford them.
Aayug has also contributed in the AIDS awareness by collaborating with National AIDS Control Organization, NACO by making two advertisements and one short film for AIDS awareness. “There is too much poverty in our country and if my one initiative could change the lives of few, then why not?” said Manish.
Aayug also gives these underprivileged children classes on animation and computers and give impart them importance of education. Besides education and AIDS, Aayug also focuses on child labour and organize many awareness programmes on child labour and other social issues.
Aayug , being an independent NGO,without any help from the government is surely creating a difference to the society in its best possible way.
